Dr. Stein was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and is a graduate of Hunter College, New York City. He received his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1977.
Dr. Stein completed his general surgery internship at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City; with a second year of training at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his general surgery training as Chief Resident at Mount Carmel
Medical Center, Columbus, OH. Dr. Stein completed his plastic surgery
residency at S.U.N.Y. Downstate/Kings County Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY.
During his general surgery residency, Dr. Stein was involved with research
in microvascular surgery at the Batelle Institute in Columbus, OH.
After completion of his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Stein was the Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Brooklyn Veterans Hospital from 1986 through 1991. Dr. Stein was also involved in the residency training program at Kings County Hospital, where he is currently an Attending Physician. Dr. Stein is currently licensed in New Jersey, New York and Ohio.
In addition to his clinical appointments, Dr. Stein also maintains a number of professional affiliations. He is an active member of the following organizations:

Dr. Stein has been in private practice in Freehold, New Jersey since 1986, specializing in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial surgery and surgery of the hand.
